Jezreel Corrales vs. Irving Berry

WBC Latino featherweight title
Panamanian featherweight title
10 Rounds

Jezreel Corrales 12(2)-1 vs. Irving Berry 22(9)-4-2

Corrales, at 21-years-old, is a young gun with not a whole lot of power, but on an 11 fight win streak. Despite the fact he’s only had 13 fights, he’s fought some good journeymen in Rene Alvarado, Fabian Marimon, Antonio Fernandez, Rolando Giono (twice). His lone loss was in his second fight to Jhonatan Arenas.

Berry is a really good opponent for Corrales, because though Berry’s coming off a loss, it was in an IBO world title challenge against Will Tomlinson. In that fight, Berry proved that his cagey style could give most super featherweights trouble.

Berry is 4-2 in his last 6 fights. He has wins against Aristides Perez, Roinet Caballero, and against the previously unbeaten Carlos Raul Guzman. The losses on Berry’s resume are to Tomlinson, Jonathan Barros, Nicholas Walters, and Nehomar Cermeno. As for his draws, they are against Eduardo Blackman and Juan Santos.

Prediction: Berry by UD.
