Yengoyan

Sasha Yengoyan

Light middleweight
8 Rounds

Sasha Yengoyan 25(16)-1-1 vs. Frank Haroche Horta 33(12)-10-5

I really don’t understand why this is only going for 8 rounds. It’s a good fight at the continental level. Either fighter could challenge for an EBU title.

Yengoyan’s best win was a TKO2 victory over Islam Teffahi. That was a corker of a battle, with both fighters going for broke in the first round. Yengoyan then shut Teffahi’s eye — forcing the ref to stop the fight.

His only loss was by UD to Aslanbek Kozaev, but Yengoyan kept things competitive and won quite a few rounds. Since the loss, Yengoyan has won his last 4 fights by KO.

Until this year, Horta has never risen above the French domestic level — but then last March, he shockingly KOed Jackson Bonsu in 2 rounds. He’s fought twice more since then, and has won by KO both times.

Should either fighter win this, they should be on towards an EBU title challenge.

Prediction: Yengoyan by KO8.
