Interim WBC International middleweight title
Marcos Reyes 28(22)-1 vs. Rogelio Medina 30(24)-3
There’s very little hype behind Reyes, which is a shame because he’s got promise.
Since his lone loss, Reyes has been on a 15 fight win streak. Throughout this, he’s maintained a 76% KO ratio. At 25-years-old, he’s still young enough to continuously improve his game. If he keeps going at this rate, he’ll be knocking on the door of the top 10.
Reyes’ best fight to date was against Eric Mitchell. In that fight, Reyes slowed down an aggressive Mitchell with body shots that broke Mitchell’s ribs. Reyes then roared back, pressured Mitchell, and forced the stoppage in Round 5.
Medina is coming off a loss to Jose Uzcategui, but previous to that he was on a 5 fight win streak with all of them coming by KO.
Similar to Reyes, Medina can crack. He has a 73% KO ratio. What’s concerning about Medina is that he seems to lack a chin. 2 of his 3 losses were by KO, and in his last loss he was knocked down.
Prediction: Reyes by KO5.
