Vacant GBU cruiserweight title
12 Rounds

Dmitry Kudryashov 10(10)-0 vs. Shawn Cox 17(16)-3

Kudryashov has a weird taste for exotic and lowly-regarded titles. In addition to being the current UBO cruiserweight titlist, he’s now gunning for the GBU. Why? I don’t know.

Either case, he’s an exciting fighter and his KO ratio tell you a whole lot. The two best wins on Kudryashov’s resume are Prince George Akrong and Levan Jomardashvili. However, Cox is his best match-up yet.

Cox is a good enough fighter to challenge for the IBO and WBA cruiserweight titles — which are more highly regarded. In fact, he challenged for the WBA title last year against Denis Levedev but go KOed in 2 rounds.

Even so, Cox has wins against Kwesi Jones, Wayne Braithwaite, and Francisco Alvarez. Almost all of Cox’ wins have come by KO. The last time a fight went the distance was in 2010.

I strongly believe someone’s getting knocked out. The question is, “Who?”

Prediction: Kudryashov by KO5.
