Vacant IBF International light heavyweight title
Harry Simon 28(21)-0 vs. Geard Ajetovic 23(11)-8-1
Simon is potential gone to waste. He is a former two division world titlist having held the WBO belt at light middleweight and middleweight.
Then Simon had to get himself in trouble. Simon involved himself in two car accidents resulting in fatalities. The second one that happened in 2002 resulted in the deaths of two adults and a baby. Simon was found guilty of culpable homicide and spent time in prison.
After his release, Simon has attempted a comeback but has pretty much been stuck with linsignificant journeymen. Now at 41-year-old, it is doubtful Simon will ever get his title shot — but there’s still hope.
Ajetovic is a former world challenger who has served as a test for prospects recently. He’s exposed Przemyslaw Opalach, Christian Pawlak, and Jackson Chanet. On the other hand, he’s indicated that Daniel Geale, Dmitry Pirog, and Maxim Vlasov had promise.
If Simon is definitively on the downslide, Ajetovic will defeat him. If Simon wins, he is ever closer to a legitimate title shot.
Prediction: Simon by UD.
